At Ecozone, we have been making a continued effort to reduce our use of plastic in our products. Not only does this include using PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic and producing recyclable bottles as much as possible, but also to make products and packaging that are biodegradable and water soluble.
Swapping disposable plastic wrappers for a water- soluble alternative
We switched the plastic wrappers on our tablets to a soluble alternative made from a corn-starch, polyvinyl bio-composite film. This means its soluble in water, as well as being biodegradable and non-toxic. It breaks down in water into armless components that will eventually decompose into reusable nutrients over time. The corn-starch is what makes the film more biodegradable by enzymes, as well as in soil and compost.

Dishwasher Tablets
Our Ultra All-in-One, Brilliance and Classic Dishwasher Tablets all now come in 100% recyclable cardboard boxes, and are all wrapped in our water-soluble casing. Simply pop them in your machine, and let them dissolve – no need to unwrap them!
Washing Machine & Dishwasher Cleaner
Our handy limescale-busting Washing Machine & Dishwasher Cleaner tablets, available in Mint, Eucalyptus and Fragrance-Free scents, are also wrapped in our biodegradable, water soluble wrapping.
Oxygen Brightening and Oxygen Whitening Tablets

Biodegradable alternatives
Being biodegradable means that something is able to decompose naturally and avoiding pollution. This is why, where we can, we have been developing products and formulas that are natural, plant-based and biodegradable. This includes our oxo biodegradable bin liners that have been specially formulated to slowly break down over time, instead of breaking down into microplastics, as common bin liners do, and so avoid contributing more pollution.
