Ecozone celebrates Organic September
Each September, the Soil Association campaigns to promote the benefits of choosing organic products, which has become increasingly important in a world challenged by climate change, diet-related illness and a decline in wildlife. Throughout Organic September, we’re reminded that making the right choices about what we buy can help support biodiversity and wildlife, combat climate change and reduce exposure to pesticides. That’s why here at Ecozone we offer organic products and use organic ingredients in as many of our formulas as possible, and we’re constantly working on ways that we can include more.
Organic Soap Nuts
One product that we’re proud to offer for its organic credentials is our Soap Nuts. Unlike traditional laundry detergent, which is often a cocktail of harmful chemicals, Soap Nuts are a natural, organic product which grow on the trees of the Sapindus genus and have been used for thousands of years as a natural washing detergent. Gentle on skin and clothes, they are also hypoallergenic and biodegradable, and each dose is reusable up to four times.
Biodegradable Bin Liners
We all know the importance of recycling, but unfortunately there are still products that can’t be recycled, and one of the most alarming uses of plastic is the waste bags we use to dispose of our non-recyclables. Ecozone’s new Bin Liners are a much greener option thanks to the use of d2w, an additive that, when added to petroleum-based plastic, renders it degradable. This means that they will disappear completely in a short space of time, leaving no methane, fragments or harmful residues. And for those making their own compost at home or simply doing their bit by recycling food waste, our Caddy Liners are completely compostable and biodegradable too, while still being tear resistant.
Plant-based Cleaning Sprays
Another way we can be sure that our products limit their impact on the soil that is so vital to our lives, is by including plant-based ingredients in all of our formulas. Whether it’s the washing up liquid used to clean dishes or the laundry detergent used to wash clothing, any products containing harsh chemicals will eventually end up in the water system, negatively impacting food production, wildlife and our precious environment. All of our sprays, from our anti-bacterial Multi-Surface Cleaner to our Limescale Remover, contain plant-based ingredients, limiting their impact on land, water and wildlife.
So, this Organic September, why not see what changes you can make in your everyday life to work towards a cleaner, greener planet? See the Soil Association website for even more inspiration.
