World Refill Day: Cleaning Refills & Plastic Free Products
The planet’s plastic problem is getting out of hand. According to Greenpeace, up to 12 million tonnes of plastic enters our oceans every year and, in some parts of the world, rivers and oceans are literally overflowing with plastic, which harms marine life and pollutes our food and water.
Over the last year, the coronavirus pandemic has caused governments and businesses to backtrack on commitments to minimise single use plastic. The ban on plastic straws in the UK was delayed by six months in 2020, and many coffee shops stopped accepting reusable mugs as they were considered unhygienic.
Thanks to campaigners, plastic waste is a well-publicised topic and most people now understand the problem, but few really know what they can do about it. Thankfully, World Refill Day is helping shine a light on one potential solution.
World Refill Day encourages everybody to prevent plastic pollution and generate less waste by choosing refills whenever they can. They list loads of places you can get free water refills, buy your coffee in a reusable cup or reuse tubs for personal care products.
At Ecozone, one of our priorities is finding ways to reduce plastic. One way we’re doing this, is by offering big refill packs of some of our most popular products. We’ve got some products that are completely plastic free, and those that we still need plastic for contain as much recycled material as possible. Of course, they’re always recyclable, too.
Bin Cleaner & Ultra Shower Cleaner Refills
These powerful cleaning formulas are available in two-litre refill packs, so there’s no need to keep buying new spray bottles every time. The Bin Cleaner is a specially-formulated, antibacterial solution to the nasty residues and smells in your bin. The antibacterial Ultra Shower Cleaner powers through limescale and protects against mould, to keep your bathroom in tip-top shape.
Each pack contains enough for four 500ml refills, so you’ll get plenty of cleaning action before needing a new one.
Laundry Liquid Refills
Laundry liquid is probably one of the most used cleaning products in your home, which is why we now offer both our Non-Bio and Bio formulas in refill packs of a whopping five litres! Both formulas are tough on dirt at low temperatures and on short wash cycles. Those with sensitive skin might prefer the Non-Bio, while those looking for extra stain removal should try the Bio.
Plastic Free Dishwasher Tablets
All three of our dishwasher tablets, Classic, Ultra and Brilliance, now come in completely plastic free packaging. Each tablet is wrapped in a plant-based, soluble coating that breaks down in water. This means there’s no plastic to unwrap and no unnecessary waste. The outer cardboard is completely recyclable and made from recycled materials.

Plastic Free Washing Machine & Dishwasher Cleaner
Just like our dishwasher tablets, our Washing Machine & Dishwasher Cleaners are completely plastic-free.
